Elizabeth Logue is as the Ottawa Riverkeeper, works as a strong advocate for a healthy watershed for generations to come, as well as providing a voice for its entire ecosystem. She has 20 years of experience within the federal government and her community, working on partnerships and community development which bring together federal, provincial and Indigenous collaborators toward common goals linked to sustainable development. She will be discussing flood management and the need for more information sharing.

Emma Lui is a water and social justice activist, researcher and writer. She is a contributor to the book Corporatizing Canada: Making Business out of Public Service. She spent nine years as the Water Campaigner for the Council of Canadians. Emma is co-founder of the La Pêche Coalition for a Green New Deal. Emma will give an overview of drinking water in Canada. She will talk about drinking water advisories in First Nations, the state of water and waste water infrastructure and threats such as drought and flooding linked to the climate crisis, privatization and bottled water.

Guillaume Lamoureux is the current mayor of the municipality of La Pêche.  He will be talking about the various sources to drinking water in La Pêche as well as the threats to drinking water such as flooding and septic leakage.

Michèle Labelle is a biologist who currently works for the ABV des 7, the provincially based watershed authority.  Since has accumulated broad experience in educating and raising awareness in the protection and restoration of hydrous environments, wildlife ecosystem management, environmental protection and organic farming. Michele will be discussing the various threats to our local lakes including invasive species as well as well as mitigating factors

Rita Jain is an organizational change manager by day, but is very involved with community causes and environmental activism.  She is currently the President of the Friends of the Gatineau River (FOG) which is a local volunteer based environment group dedicated to protecting the Gatineau River. Rita will be sharing how FOG is protecting the Gatineau river by educating, advocating, monitoring and celebrating.  Rita will engage the audience by discussing concrete actions that everyone in the community can take help maintain a clean heathy river.
